Money Money Money - Mind Games We Play that Get in the Way

Money Mind Games

After my divorce, money was on my mind constantly!  Always worried about how I would provide for myself and my baby daughter. It got so tight at one point, that all I had in my pocket after paying all the bills and making sure my daughter had what she needed was enough to buy yogurt, apples and a bag of baby carrots.  Yes, I existed on these for a period of time. Lost a lot of weight (LOL) and not in a way I would recommend for anyone. In fact, I remember at one time I sat in my living room and cried out like Tara from “Gone with the Wind”, with my fist in the air “I will never go hungry again”! It was a difficult time for me, but it taught me how to be more resourceful in so many ways. I’ll leave that topic for another day…and it also taught me that I needed to think about money differently.

Money is a source of stress and anxiety for many people. We may feel like we don’t have enough, or that we are not using it wisely, or that we are missing out on opportunities to grow our wealth. But what if we could change our perspective and see money as a tool, a resource, and a friend?

Here are some tips to help you reframe how you think about money and improve your relationship with it.

– Think of money as energy. Money is a form of exchange that represents the value of your time, skills, and talents. It is not something to be hoarded or feared, but something to be circulated and appreciated. When you spend money, you are releasing energy into the world and creating opportunities for yourself and others. When you receive money, you are attracting energy and acknowledging your worth. Money is a reflection of your vibration and mindset, so make sure you are sending and receiving positive signals.

– Think of money as abundance. Money is not a scarce or limited resource that you have to compete for. There is enough money in the world for everyone to have what they need and want. The only limit is your own belief system and imagination. When you think of money as abundance, you open yourself to more possibilities and opportunities. You also become more generous and grateful, which attracts more money into your life.

– Think of money as freedom. Money is not a burden or a trap that restricts your choices and happiness. It is a tool that enables you to live the life you desire and express your true self. When you think of money as freedom, you become more empowered and confident. You also become more responsible and intentional, which helps you manage your money better and achieve your goals.

One of my favorite wealth and abundance mantras is:

  • I am wealthy
  • I feel wealthy
  • I attract wealth and abundance to me
  • I love wealth and abundance
  • I speak wealth and abundance into my existence
  • I see wealth and abundance around me
  • I know that wealth and abundance are my birth right!

Yes, money can be stressful if we allow to be. So, make a decision to do something different, trust yourself and your instincts, get resourceful, find help and support when you need it and know that wealth and abundance is your birthright!
